Dead Poplar, oil on board

I've been reading a great book by John F. Carlson,  it's called Carlson's Guide to landscape painting.  His section on trees is amazing as is the rest of the book.  So I decided I'd better go and paint some trees.  I really like the poplar trees, they have a lot of variation and there is always at least one dead one in the group.

I love the trees! They remind me of Huntington also. Dad and I always wanted to build out by some poplar trees in Huntington,I must say I'm glad we never did! Nice Nice Job!
